Fishbrain

No.1 app for the world’s no.1 hobby - Fishing

Fishing is a hobby shared by millions of people around the world and Fishbrain was born to connect these millions of anglers. It’s an IOS and Android app with more than 8 million registered users, touching three main areas: social, utility and commerce.

It’s a social app - for people to share their catches and chat with each other; an utility app - to help people become a better angler by following millions of hotspots, catch positions and best baits; and it’s a marketplace - to search, review and buy fishing gear.

Growing the product

At Fishbrain, I took the opportunity to start a whole new adventure by joining the Growth team. Bringing my previous extensive knowledge on how to design user experiences, my daily work combined UX design, data and growth hacking.

New user experience

Redefining the signup to create a more personalized experience, rethinking and designing a strategy for SEO and supporting marketing with App and Play Store refreshment and optimizations, increased the number of new registered users by 2M in 9 months.

Premium conversion

Based on conversion rate optimization strategies I redesigned paywalls, special offers, banners and pop-ups which lead to double the revenue per user compared to the previous year.

Core Product

Parallel to my work as a Growth Designer I also helped shape the core product, mainly focusing in creating habit loops to increase retention.

Leaderboards to rank users according to the amount of fish per species they catch per month.
